Amidst the coronavirus epidemic, the lockdown has been yet again extended to 17th May. During, this lockdown one thing is for sure, that each and every civilian’s life has been effected some way than the other. Hope we now develop the empathy within ourselves, which is very important during the present state of the country.

What India needed was identification of the hotspots via testing, then lockdown in sensitive zones and treatment of coronavirus patients with extreme care so that the virus doesn’t comes back to him or her yet again.

The government of India basically is projecting that’s its doing a favour to us. It’s giving the narrative that “at least we gave a lockdown, that’s most important, and we have executed the most important thing”.

But I ask, what exactly has the government done? Gabe donations? Increased PPE’S? Increased testing? Provided free ration for non ration holders?

No. Whatever has been done till is done by the states. The government is just taking the credit of it, by endorsing what has happened and completely ignoring the how it has happened, what has happened aspect.

What the government basically did, was just giving declarations. Declarations of lockdowns, and prohibition of non essential activities to take place. This was done just to impose an impression that the government is doing something.

The government neglected its other duties, because it didn’t wish to take the burden of spending time behind health issues. What it wanted was to enjoy this time as a vacation with all the privileges, they are entitled to. No, parliament to face questions, no tension of hearings as courts are closed, elections campaigns paused, election funds being collected via donations, lavish lifestyle, enormous wealth, no worry of essential goods, institutions are anyway in hands, people are sheeps, and the lockdown initiative is taking the course of nationalism.

What more to worry? What more can a fascist government desire to experience, other than this? How can it not afford to enjoy such a marvellous opportunity? Summer is almost there. The government is having a stupendous vacation, with their silicon hearts.

We were fools and are fools, if we expected this government to take strong action with regards to this pandemic.

All it needed for a nation to yet again prove they were idiots and come out on streets and bang thalis was a voice. One voice. The voice of the Prime minister. But, this voice was silent, when Asifa was raped, when India was declared the most unsafe country for women, when lynchings became new normal, when kashmir was destroyed, when intolerance became a default human habit, when students were hostiled, when the court asked them to build a temple in a secular country, when people were treated like untouchables and sent to Detention centres, and most importantly when it’s government didn’t think twice, before executing a pogrom as a response to an election defeat.

Then how do we expect that voice to suddenly ignite in realms of democratic dissent, and listen to experts and take action. How do we expect that man who is planning of reconstructing the parliament in this juncture, to prioritize testing?

Extending the lockdown while taking 0 mitigating measures testifies to this govt’s cluelessness.

On 17 May, our infrastructure is going to be no different than it was on 17 March.

India’s lockdown is as brutal as China’s. Hungry people don’t take kindly to authoritarianism.

By arbitrarily extending the lockdown, this govt is also squandering away the public support that it’s going to need through rest of the year when things WILL get worse.

This is not merely a 2 month battle – and this govt is clearly not thinking about the mid/long-term.

2. What is the target? Where do we expect to stand at the end of these 2 weeks?

Modi should know he can’t keep extending the lockdown while merely praying that the virus disappears on its own suddenly.

Mr.Modi and his government is basically behaving like the sadhu, pandits maulavis and etc:, who give superstitious remedies in form of wearing karas, Gemstones, performing particular rituals and etc; but, blame the client if they superstitious remedies didn’t work, citing you didn’t have much faith or you didn’t follow my instructions carefully. The government is indirectly asking the public to either thank them if their decisions help in resolving Covid-19 or blame themselves if some problem happens. Like, we have declared a lockdown that’s it. Rest is your responsibility. If you don’t listen to me you will suffer. Stay homes, not because we care, but because we have asked you to. Maintain social distancing again not because we are concerned, but because we wish to restablish an idea of untouchability and social extortion.

The government’s slogan STOP THE SPREAD, is more of a command like scolding someone, to shift the blame via a proverbial straw. Whereas, it should have been a pledge/commitment of unitary nature. But it isn’t.

It is the megalomania of the dictators, and a deeper anxiety in losing raw power, that makes it desire in having the state thanking them for saving lives and their survival. This megalomania must not be confused with empathy and a sense of both moral and legal duty.

Actually, the lockdown could have still be considered, if there’s a partial liftment of it in areas which have progressed. However, there’s a problem here. Since, it’s a nationwide lockdown and hotspots haven’t been previously identified by testing, “progress” can’t be characterized. Areas which might have supposedly progressed might turn out to be one’s with highest number of asymptomatic patients.

The economy is decimated. The rupee is on its knees. Petrol is at an all time high. The stock market has imploded. Twelve Lakh crore in nonperforming assets and the banking system is jammed shut. The informal sector has been decimated as a result of demonetisation and an extremely complex multi layered GST. Millions of small and medium business have been wiped out. In such a situation, when the curfew gets over, the country’s center of attention would be the economy, with a even more compete attitude, because all of our lives, to a certain extent will be effected with an obvious economic strain. The devil will no longer get away by citing scriptures for it’s purpose. But, if it gets then trust me we are in deep tunnel, without any rays of light to be seen.. The fish called constitution is anyway half dead in a drought driven village with only little water left for it to survive, on the other hand. Hungry humans, are also awaiting to have a delicious meal of it, as soon as possible. (metaphor)

And the lockdown above all is serving as an advantage.

It’s been 3 months of a new decade, and 6 years of bjp’s governance, most of us are already exhausted, by the repeated reprehensible assault of democracy. The attitude of symbolizing lockdown with a pause button, has the economy and our mental health the worst effected.

The lockdown has turned into a humanitarian crisis because of poor planning. Indian governments have a tendency to ignore the complexity that human decision making embodies. This seems to reflect a failure to view people as individuals, with all the emotions they have. In fact, India’s social and economic engineering can be compared with the exertions of Adam Smith’s “man of system”, who “seems to imagine that he can arrange the different members of a great society with as much ease as the hand arranges the different pieces upon a chess-board”. Demonetisation, GST, NRC attempts, and now the lockdown suggest an approach not very different from that.

A nationwide lockdown without any planning and an depreciating Healthcare infrastructure is no solution. There have been reports stating that the lockdown has led to decrease in the number of positive cases. No. That is not a good news. There’s a reason to it, firstly, the Indian government has been sitting ideal after declaring lockdown, thinking it to be a supposed MASTERSTROKE. When you a trap people indoors, without enough testing, and then decrease the testing initiative even more, is it not obvious that the virus is also trapped side by? Hence, when the lockdown gets over, cases will increase and there will be an outburst of more incidents.

I feel we have completely ignored the asymptomatic aspect of the virus. There have been millions of people who had NO SYMPTOMS at all, but were tested positive for coronavirus. So, how do solve that problem? By TESTING. TESTING is the only solution there.

I have even came across people, citing testing to be an expensive expenditure.

Yet, some morons are reluctant to spend money on testing, citing it to be an extra expenditure.

The fact of the matter is that the government that can have the audacity to think about reconstructing the parliament with thousands of crores during this pandemic, neither lacks money nor requires any donations. I would say, giving donations to politicians is the biggest blunder ever, by citizens.

Coming back to lockdown, what modi did was basically a reflection of megalomania. Various states had already declared a lockdown, there was no need to give an official announcement from the center. What India needs desperately at this time is decentralization of power. However, Modi’s repeated actions of projecting himself supposedly different than the individual states decision is a hallmark of anti – democratic ideology that this government consists.

Various studies and experts globally have proven masks to be ineffective. WHO had previously stated the virus to be Not air-borne, however, further goes on to recommend wearing of masks. This seriously needs a clarification, because if masks are ineffective at first place and the virus is not air borne why do we require to masks? So, how is the lockdown helping in anyway? Except for creating more ruckus, for the middle class, poor migrants, hawkers and other labourers?

Lockdown can still be considered, if there’s a partial liftment of it in areas which have progressed. However, there’s a problem here. Since, it’s a nationwide lockdown and hotspots haven’t been previously identified by testing, “progress” can’t be characterized. Areas which might have supposedly progressed might turn out to be one’s with highest number of asymptomatic patients.

Secondly, partial liftment must be done only in some places and not all at once, because again it invites the danger of crowds. If only few places are done, then it can be watched and controlled by the police effectively that whether social distancing is being maintained or not.

Social distancing is logical because even though the virus is not airborne, it can be transmitted by direct contact. However, this idea is wrongly contemplated. Firstly, the virus is more contagious to surfaces than human contact, (reference: WHO). So, we not require to maintain distance from humans but also forbear contact with surfaces like walls, tables, benches and etc; while we are outside. Social distancing can only be properly maintained by individual vigilance, and for that a nationwide lockdown isn’t necessary. It was important in some places, because of too many people come out of their homes, it will be difficult to maintain social distancing, due to high population. And the places needed could have been identified by hotspots, but that wasn’t done. This destroys the entire purpose of the lockdown.

Most importantly, India cannot afford a nationwide lockdown. Our economy and mental health will be the worst effected.

India’s unemployment rate is at 45 year low with GDP being at a 4.5 rate. Consumption denial is substantial. India is anyway under a recession. The middle class has the pressure of paying off dues and salaries to staff and labourers. The middle class that is neither entitled to any relief packages nor free ration, will be driven to poverty next. The upper class which is busy showing off privileges through bursting crackers and banging thalis is not exempted from paying the price of lockdown either. Businesses no matter how big are stagnant. Moreover, there’s a reason why the upper class is called “upper class” , what kind of business do this people have? Jewellery, construction, furniture, designer garments and etc; Honestly, tell me who on earth is going to purchase such products after coronavirus lockdown gets over? Only grocery and daily essentials will be purchased. Hence, markets will be sent to a paralysis.

Moreover, Indians don’t have the capacity to stock up goods. From an economic point of view, consumption denial isn’t absolute. And too many goods can’t be stocked up at once, considering the purchasing power of an average Indian, which is very low.

Lockdown is thus, another disastrous decision by the government of India. It serves no solution and due to improper planning of the government, all the objectives of the lockdown are hence, dismantled.

2014- It was a year of dilemma. A dilemma of false narratives and progress, sugar-coated by deadly nationalism and a sense of superiority. Religious nationalism and the hope of revival from a supposedly dreaded past, was as wide as a sea. People jumped into the sea of overwhelming religious extremism and supported the political absolutism. Little did they realize, that they never knew how to swim.

The honeymoon period was soon over, witnessed by farmer suicides, intolerance, media’s auction and demonitisation, the great disaster. Intellectuals were treated like untouchables back then. Nobody listened. Nobody, wanted to listen. Deaths were witnessed, capitalism was seen rising, the sheeps had a slight bit of realization. In silence, India lost 2% of its GDP within weeks.

2017- GST came in. Businesses collapsed, economy shattered, institutions paralyzed, and democracy was just a fancy word. People who were financially effected, realized that they were betrayed, they were exploited. However, it was too late.

Asifa rape case became a mirror to the blind and dumb nation, yet the politicians tried their level best to make rape immortal and a women was treated only like a mere pair of breast and vagina.

With Yogi Adityanath then winning Uttar Pradesh, India became a communal paradise.

Deemed as threat to the very existence of the nation and the community, minority community is currently the target of the majoritarian desire to inflict pain to avent their projected grief. Secularism became a topic of debate, every issue that concerned the state was communalised. Mob lynching was the new normal.

India in its lifetime has witnessed riots, demolition of temples and a lot more, but never did it expect to witness, such a great disdain to intellect and human rights.

Knowledge became a privilege by 2018, where intellectuals were praised not for there knowledge but courage to express it. With bravery becoming a rare gem, India’s intolerance was opposed repeatedly. But, all were labelled as anti India elements and colored with political radicalism. Authoritarian and insecure by nature, the fascist running the country, responded to democratic dissent by paranoia.

The otherwise indifferent man was re-elected, as the country was engaged in finding the best out of the worst. If not him, then who? As if, a rapist priest in a temple is pure, because he is not menstruating at least unlike a women. Only if, the government was taken more seriously than a web series or such a code of perfection was created for the king.

As the time passed, raw power became the only currency valid. India was gifted the decision of revoking article 370, which it only could imagine. Kashmir then became a warzone. There is no such thing as civilized warfare; all warfare is inhuman,
Yet this is war: war for which all the religious jingoes are howling, war to which all the hopes of the world are being sacrificed, for absolutism to rise.

More and more atrocities in the name of religion, and national interest were executed. Humans became political animals. Dalits and Muslims became aliens. Patriotism seemed to to became the sole property of Hindus only. Even the courts didn’t think twice, before asking the state to construct a temple in a secular state.

Buying of mla’s, horse trading, and breaking up of a democratically elected government was considered as chanakya neeti by the hyperbole media, to whom the quality of being shrewd and the ability to dictate others without being questioned was the highest virtue of polity.

Actually, Indians are doomed, between the relationship of legality, righteousness and what we were actually doing. Laws in India basically serve as deterrents to hide the incompetence of a dysfunctional society. The effulgence of the judiciary became a hidden utopia.

The coming of CAA and NRC, was all that India awaited. India this refused to surrender itself to the fascist. Protests that were revolutionary, were not only done to mark its anger against the government’s citizenship law but also against the religious politics executed in the last 6 years and continues to be in an era of economic recession.

The delhi elections came midway, however, the anarchist, responded to an election defeat by a state sponsored pogrom.

It proved the frustration of the a government when, it doesn’t gets what it wants.

India then faced the coronavirus epidemic , where being a realist became being delusional and a criminal activity to be so. No one expected it to be communalised, however, it was very much communalised.

The otherwise ignorant dictator, then declared a lockdown which was also an official death warrant to the labourers and wage earners. Instead, of doing more testing it encouraged the idea of social distancing, which also re-established the idea of untouchability and treating Muslims and other Chinese people as suspected offenders.

Nevertheless, the megalomania of the dictator didn’t end, he took repeated popularity tests to see whether his cult still exists or not be it by banging plates or lighting a candle, it was well accepted by the society in the name of supposed unity and need of showing it to others. Unity that was temporary, and needed to be performed than executed by default. One must have wondered, what more was left for a morally corrupt nation to show and why did this need develop at first place.

Hence, it became yet again proved that we were a nation of educated illiterates and we didn’t require any virus. Prejudice and stupidity had already poisoned us, and were sufficient to kill us.

With a leader like modi at the helm of Indian democracy, my last words belong to BR Ambedkar, speaking at the concluding session of the constituent assembly on November 24th, 1949, the dalit lawmaker invoked John Stuart mill to warn the citizens against placing their liberties at the feet of a great leader. Indians, he said, were particularly susceptible to bhakti or devotion. This was fine in religion but in politics it is a sure road to degradation and eventual dictatorship.

Aam Aadmi Party is seen relishing with its real motives in recent times. From supporting the government’s decision on kashmir to impotency over coronavirus pandemic.

With his inaction during the riots and nod to Kanhaiya Kumar sedition case, people are asking if the AAP is just another version of the BJP — a BJP-lite, with a tad less of Hindutva.

While the Delhi CM is engaged in doing PR stunts, and reading Bhagwad Gita, the residents are losing their lives due to lack of testing, availability of N95 masks and other facilities.

Delhi has even recorded to be the hot-spot zone for coronavirus cases. Yet, the Chief Minister chose publicity over the issue of great importance.

Coming to the factor of being resembled as an alternative, this question is for those who still claim there’s no alternative, hence, AAP is the only option and ray of hope.
Do you even want to have an alternative?
Is it the supposed absence of an opposition that inclines you towards AAP or is the AAP as a party that influences you?

If the former is true, and AAP is supposed to be considered as an alternative, then it is well perspicuous, that we are trying to find the best out of the worst. And when you do so, aren’t you considering the latter to be a part of evil?

Yet, our neoliberals defend it by saying, ideology is most important and nothing else matters. Well, the idealistic narrative of ideology being the most important factor, doesn’t suits with AAP. The reason is because you are also saying at the same time as a jury that there’s no alternative.

You aren’t saying that AAP is a great party, and hence, deserves to be the alternative, because your in a quest of best out of the worst. So how can you use ideology as a justification and also claim lesser evils are compatible at the same time? And, this woke liberals must also clarify that how can ideology be segregated into lesser and greater ratio, especially in politics, if they desire perfection? Ideology is ideology, it can’t be classified as soft and hard. Just like how there’s nothing called soft or hard hindutva, hatred can’t be soft or hard. Next what soft terrorism and hard terrorism? Then aren’t this woke liberals who expect homogeneous perfection in politics, proving to be heterogeneous in nature, as individuals?

And if AAP is an alternative, then why are you giving it the position of an opposition instead of the ruling party? If a party is an alternative because of its ideology then doesn’t it deserves to be in ruling? Why opposition? Because, it’s a well known fact that practically it can’t be a pan india party.

Coming to, Aap’s political representation. Even though it won the Delhi Election, it has neglible representation in parliament. Yes its true, that we are also a federal democracy. But, is Delhi even a state at first place? So, the logic of federal opposition doesn’t technically works. Moreover, how can it be an alternative, if it doesn’t has MP’s from his party in the Lok Sabha, primarily? Where exactly is it going to oppose the government? Social media? Well, then tell me something, is that a sufficient qualification for an opposition that too in an era of fascism? And, if you tell me rallies, then let me remind you elections are over, and moreover, opposing it in rallies isn’t enough.

The parliament is that house, from where, major decisions regarding the country are passed, social media outrage cannot stop bills that are lethal in nature to be passed. And if you are thinking it can create fear among the bjp to place bills at first place, then let me tell you this is not a fairy tale and secondly stop residing in a dreamland.

Why will the bjp which won by a majority last year , even thinking about fearing a party, that neither has parliamentary representation nor has a state technically, with only one leader at the epicenter? It’s again not a dreamland, and magically a party that has none of the above cardeurs mentioned, create any difference in the state of affairs of our country. And even if has worked in Delhi, it doesn’t qualifies it to be an alternative from a practical and political sense.

Hence, there is no way, and no justification for AAP to be an opposition even in near future from a political sense.

I have a simple question to all neoliberals who previously/presently support AAP-
Keeping everything (including ideology & political opinions) aside, how on earth do you expect a party which has no leadership, long term strategies & most importantly pan india reach to be an alternative?🤔

I would next like to list down some choices AAP had made and analyze them.

The AAP government had supported the government’s decision on article 370. It’s no secret any longer, that what’s going on in Kashmir right now, as a result of this decision. Revoking this article was a scar for our nation. We gave a direct response to jinnah after 72 years. In 2019, we did such communally polarized nonsense. This showed where we are heading. It is also a collective shame , that kashmir issue was still there in 2019, wheras it should have been solved.

The populism latching on to the politics of winners and losers is to mobilize psychically potent resentments & anger against the “outsiders” responsible for the pain of the “people”.While, the true terrorists of democracy are the ones heading the country. People are of the opinion this was a revenge for what happened with the kashmiri pandits, but no, this was just a state sponsored persecution of the idea of India, just to establish the real intensity of the authority the government of India holds.

Currently the only currency that matters is raw power. This is a state that will make a mockery of democracy and deliberation, whose psychological principle is fear that will make ordinary citizens cannon fodder for its warped nationalist pretensions. And this, idea of the government succeeded very successfully in Kashmir.

The Aap even supported the Ayodhya Verdict. It supported the court’s decision to order the the state to build a temple in a secular country. Not, only that I think we haven’t forgotten the hanuman chalisa controversy and hanuman statue construction appeal of the AAP post election. I would have still considered the hanuman chalisa controversy provided it wouldn’t have been post election, leaving no stone unturned for me to believe that it was an election gimmick. So, the narrative of AAP with regards to secularism, religion and God is clear.

There can also be no justification for its deplorable silence and supposed helplessness behind the Delhi pogrom last month. Yet, it had the audacity to justify itself by saying that law and order doesn’t comes under the aap government and it is under the LG. It’s shameful attitude yet again proves its motives, anti Muslim idea, and inhumane mentality.

If you still believe in the both side argument or Aap’s pseudo helplessness or government is naive, then u better be apolitical.

You know in order to do something you don’t need techniques but intent, even if it is not substantial, it is your responsibility. This was Aap’s not only legal, political but also moral responsibility. The chief minister and the government who can justify their helplessness after a deadly pogrom being held in their region, can they ever guarantee safety for the nation or even the guarantee to stick with their opposition duties (in a hypothetical situation).

Aap also gave sanction for prosecuting Kanhaiya Kumar for sedition while it didn’t grant it for nearly 2 years knowing fully well that bjp is prosecuting him as he has been boldly attacking bjp leaders all over India . This yet again proves its opinion on freedom of speech, independence, revolution and youth politics. And well pellucids, that it cannot tolerate any other independent voice, assuming it to be a threat to their existence.

Lastly, I wish to tell one more thing. Now, I might sound like a fallacy (especially in a fascism era) what I am saying, but you will realize it someday soon.
Politics is a mixture of power, ambition and ideology, where ideology is the raw material.
But, if the raw material is rusted, you will lose the rest greatly. And what kind of ambition, power and ideology AAP has is clear.

India has become the only country where the home minister is nowhere to be seen, Smriti Irani is busy playing antakshari, Sambit Patra (a doctor and well known politician, eka, comedian) busy doing pooja, Prakash Javedkar is busy watching Ramayana, and prime Minister is busy with apology gimmicks.

And Mr. Modi very well knows, that his recent apology just serves as a deterrent of his privilege because he will not give money in hands of labourers and wants people to be doomed in the illusion of “at least he said sorry, this is unexpected” and stop demanding any remuneration . Well the word sorry is unexpected from a 56 inch ego heart, but are gimmicks unexpected from a fascist?

IMF recently remarked that the world has entered into a global recession, India which was already in a stagnant stage, will be doubly effected by the coronavirus epidemic even more. The country whose economy has been anyway falling due to consumption denial, not only due to low income and unemployment but also due to very anticipation of punitive hard and fast measures taken by this present government, will have a double effect on the reduction of demand and supply in the market.

Nirmala Sitaraman has no idea as to how to handle the falling economy, and is reluctant of giving money in the hands of people which could have solved the problem of consumption denial.

However, secularism implies an association of religious considerations from political and social life. Religion is ideally a matter of personal faith on which modern secular society is based upon values which may not contain an ocean of fundamental human rights. As we understand them today as modern man will not rely on vision for deriving our concept of social consigns but in India today that is an ideal and not a practice.

Social consequences inherent, in the democratic system of government we have accepted, the democratic ethic is liberal and, therefore, heterodox in many instances we witness and inevitable conflict between human rights and religion based social attitudes.

In such a situation, we must eliminate the obstacles in the democracy, created by certain religious attitudes. But we don’t, thinking of sentiments, mostly that of the majority community and neglecting the other just because they are smaller in quantity.

The very fact that in India we call Muslims minority and Hindus the majority implies a non-secular atitude, however, all political parties regard this is a proper division. From where does quantity of population come into question if we are a secular country? And this sorting of people in two sects of majority and minority religion, sets forth the basis for communalism to take place.

What do we have to do with the vedic language Sanskrit, for instance, if it had been meant for us, how is it that, it is not for us to hear, see, read and understand? Why is it been unable to fullfill exegesis and affection to back every such exegesis? If we think of all such questions, we have to ask is there such a thing called Veda is there something called religion?

If yes then, I want to know how many gods are there in this world? How many symbols are there? How many temples for these gods? How much food offerings? Lastly, how many more differences are we the Indians planning to create amongst us?

Bjp folks are suddenly engaged in convincing people to stay home, and share the pseudo benefits of #JantaCurfew and clapping at 5pm.
Few days back, they were busy giving Gaumutra and Gobar solutions.
What happened to those Go Corona chants?
Useless?Or a deterrent of incompetence?

Lastly, I will say why did we even need a lock down or Janta Curfew won’t Gaumutra and Gobar cure coronavirus?
